How does VagiVital work?
Today there are both estrogen preparations and hormone-free alternatives for the treatment of vaginal atrophy. VagiVital is a hormone-free crystal-clear active gel with several advantages:

  • Short ingredient list
  • A simple standardized dose for each use with the applicator
  • Does not stick and no panty liners are needed during the course
  • Releases water to the mucosa over time, thanks to the gel's low osmolality
  • Adheres well, thanks to a carefully selected viscosity
  • Restores pH
  • Stimulates growth of cells in the surface layer of the mucosa
  • The gel is free from fats and the applicator is therefore easy to rinse after use
  • Clinically proven effects
  • Developed by a Swedish company focused on women's health

A course with VagiVital lasts 30 days during which the woman uses the applicator daily with its standardized dose of 1 ml. After 30 days, VagiVital is used as needed.

Clinical studies
VagiVital has been documented in a comprehensive randomized multicenter study with a total of 90 patients together with researchers from Karolinska Hospital, Uppsala University Hospital, and Norrland University Hospital.

A full 79% of patients experienced improvements in their most troublesome symptoms, and improvements were also seen in pH value, as well as an increase in the number of cells in the surface layer of the vaginal mucosa. Clinical effects were also documented in an improvement of symptoms from urinary incontinence, which can be seen as an additional benefit alongside relief of the other complaints.

VagiVital has thus shown significant improvements in both objective and subjective parameters.

With these clinically documented results, we classify VagiVital as an active gel, as it does much more than just moisturize. And the clinically proven effect is comparable to estrogen preparations.

Who is the active gel suitable for?
VagiVital is suitable for all women suffering from vaginal atrophy. Periods of lower estrogen production usually coincide with menopause, as well as when women undergo cancer treatment. But it can also involve women who are taking or have taken birth control pills, are breastfeeding (after childbirth), or generally suffer from genital discomfort due to vaginal dryness.
