Vaginal atrophy
Half of all women experience vaginal dryness at some point in their lives. It can be very uncomfortable and affect your daily life.
The most common complaints with vaginal atrophy are dry mucous membranes. This in turn means that one may experience one or more of the following symptoms:
- Dryness
- Itching
- Burning sensation
- Irritation
- Irritated vaginal tissue
- Discomfort during intercourse
- Discomfort during urination
- Discomfort during physical activity.
It is common to experience one or more of these symptoms during different periods in life, when estrogen production is affected and changes. Most common is during menopause, but you can also experience symptoms during stressful periods, breastfeeding, or cancer treatment.
These symptoms have a tendency to negatively affect your quality of life, causing discomfort both literally and emotionally. But there is a solution!
