Research for vaginal well-being – enjoy wonderful intimate care!
The category "intimate care" is growing enormously, and today there are lots of different products for the genital area that sometimes don't seem to serve any higher purpose than making the "fiffi" smell like wild strawberries or perhaps peach, and where many products also claim to be very effective without proven effect. The advantage of this explosion of intimate care products, on the other hand, is that genital health is increasingly being destigmatized and becoming a natural part of our lives. That we can openly start talking about menopause, dry mucous membranes, or unpleasant-smelling discharge is actually a relief ❤ but for me personally, it is important that intimate care products are also clinically proven. Intimate health is something many of us value highly, and it is no surprise that we want the best when it comes to products and treatments that affect our vaginal well-being. But what does the term "clinically proven" really mean, and how can we be sure that the products we use actually live up to that standard?
WHAT DOES "CLINICALLY PROVEN" MEAN?
When we hear the word "clinically proven," we usually think of something that has undergone rigorous tests and studies to ensure it works and is safe. That is exactly what it means 😊. When something is "clinically proven," it means there is reliable data showing its positive effects.
To achieve this status, products and treatments must undergo rigorous scientific studies conducted in clinical settings. These studies are strictly planned and follow rules intended to provide reliable results. It is a process where researchers compare what they test with other alternatives to ensure that the result is linked to what is being studied.
WHAT IS REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED "CLINICALLY PROVEN"?
Clinically proven means, in short, that product claims come from a clinical test where volunteers test the product over an agreed period. However, within the concept, there are different parameters that assess the degree of clinical evidence.
There is a plethora of "terms" to know.
🌸 Placebo control
In such a study, some people simply receive a "fake treatment" (which does nothing) while others receive the real treatment. This helps to assess whether the treatment actually works and is not just a placebo effect. Placebo-controlled studies are mainly used for drugs but also for some medical devices.
🌸 Double-blind study
Here, neither the participants nor the researchers know which treatment each person receives. This makes it harder for anyone to accidentally influence the results.
🌸 Open study
Here, participants and researchers know which treatment each person receives. It still holds value, but the risk of placebo effects is greater than in double-blind studies.
🌸 Relevant group of people
For the study to be sufficiently good, the participants must also resemble the population for which the treatment is intended. The larger the number of participants in a study, the greater the confidence in the results.
🌸 Approved by ethics committee
Studies approved by an ethics committee ensure that the study respects the participants' rights and is feasible from an ethical perspective. This type of study carries a higher quality stamp compared to studies conducted without an ethics committee.
🌸 Correct measurement methods
The study must measure things the same way every time. This means using the same tools and protocols to look at what happens and how it works.
🌸 Statistical analysis – the right way to measure things
The results must be analyzed correctly with appropriate statistical methods to determine whether any differences or effects are real and not the result of chance.
🌸 Reproducibility – others can try again
The results must be reproducible and validated by independent researchers and studies to confirm the reliability of the results. If other researchers do the same thing, they should get the same results.
INTIMATE BUT SCIENTIFIC – CLINICALLY PROVEN SELF-CARE
Women's intimate health is not something VagiVital takes lightly! We are building a product portfolio for women's intimate health that can diagnose, treat, and prevent issues – and we do it with a hefty dose of science, a pinch of humor, while wanting everything to be appealing and beautiful! Is it possible? Of course! To accomplish this task, we have so far invested a total of 115 million Swedish kronor in the scientific cauldron – because we believe that intimate care for women must be based on research. Over 1600 women have participated in our studies. And no, we have not conducted our experiments in some mysterious laboratory in the forest. Instead, we have collaborated with prestigious university hospitals and state-of-the-art research institutions with expertise in gynecology, as we are focused on making a difference in women's lives, literally.
VAGIVITAL – PRODUCTS BASED ON RESEARCH
So, why all this fuss? Well, we don't just claim that our products work, we have data to prove it. Our research is so extensive that if you stacked all our studies on top of each other, you would need a bookshelf that stretches to the moon and back. Ok, that might not be entirely true but it is definitely an impressive amount of data. You can check out all our scientific work on our website ❤

The most exciting thing about science is that it can always surprise, just like finding chocolate in the kitchen cupboard when you least expect it – but in a much more scientific way. What was previously alternative methods can also, thanks to rigorous studies, prove to have real clinical effects.
Personally, I believe that all vaginas deserve the best ❤ and the products I choose for myself must therefore be scientifically supported and proven. While I can embrace alternative methods for other areas of my life, I choose to keep my intimate health grounded in verified studies and clinical evidence. So, dear friends, let's take care of ourselves and continue to be "pussytive" when we make well-informed choices for our intimate health ❤
